Owner Nicole Zaagman has always been a cowgirl at heart. She loves all kinds of animals, country music, and the western life. Having run several small businesses before, she never really felt any of them connected all of her passions, until she opened up her boutique. She Wears Western is a place where she can fully share and combine all her joys. It’s also an outlet to express her faith, style, creativity, marketing and design skills and love for beautiful clothing, cowgirl boots, quality accessories and western fashion.

Shopping at She Wears Western will have you finding carefully curated accessories, clothing, décor, hats, jewelry, leather bags, wallets, pet items, hats, unique gifts and more. Nicole is adamant about providing quality service and products to her customers. She wants them to feel comfortable about expressing who they are through their wardrobe and feel confident doing so.

However, it’s not just about the clothes. Nicole says, “My hope and prayer is to use this platform as more than a way to sell clothing and accessories. I want to encourage women in their faith and inspire them to live with strength and dignity (Proverbs 31:25).” She adds, “You can also submit a prayer request on the website as well.”

Finding and using quality vendors and suppliers as well as including as many Made in the USA products is also important. With new products weekly the store now also offers virtual sample sales with unique, artisan brands from women businesses around the country.

Charity is another large focus of She Wears Western, in fact 10% of annual profits are donated to non-profit charities and every virtual sample sale 10% of event profits go towards a non-profit that is specially selected for each sale.

Nicole wears many hats, and when she isn’t working on She Wears Western, she works on her artist, graphic & website design, and marketing services. A recent client of hers is the non profit organization called Equine Assisted Development, a horse therapy farm (certified in the EAGALA method) that uses rescued horses to bring hope and healing to at risk youth, adults, veterans, and human trafficking survivors. She also volunteers there. But wait there’s more, she also assists her husband with his business, Zaagman Home Remodeling, “I really enjoy working with my husband Ken. We make a good team in life and work.”
