Business Spotlight: Jennie Jean Designs
Jennie Rizza is sharing her passion for leatherwork with the world. Her business, Jennie Jean Designs, offers custom leather work including belts, purses, portfolios, wallets, jewelry and one of a kind apparel. “ My custom pieces are designed with the client to ensure I am providing them with exactly what they are looking for.” Rizza says.
Jennie began her love of creating with jewelry first before diving into leatherwork, self teaching herself along the way. “I love tooled leather! I have always made and designed my own jewelry. One day I decided I was going to try leather so I began to read lots, watched many videos and began tooling.” Jennie says. “I am constantly trying to learn more and further and better my leather skills.”
Jennie works from her home, toggling her business as well as raising her family. “My days start in the barn, then I quickly move on to planning the day ahead. My list is usually long and includes schoolwork, leatherwork, bookwork, photography, social media, answering emails and things around the house!” Her and her son, Joseph, spend the days together. She works on her leatherwork while he works on his schoolwork. Jennie is also a family photographer so editing photos is also in her day to day routine. “My afternoons are filled with projects around the house, baseball, riding and training horses and of course more leatherwork. Ending the day again, feeding horses, dogs and ourselves and spending some time together reading, riding horses or practicing baseball. Most nights I spend some more time planning my leather projects, designing new products, marketing and planning what tomorrow has in store.”
When it comes to her business, it's important to Jennie to provide quality, one of a kind, handmade products to her clients. “I strive to be different” Jennie made clear. “I don't want my boutique trailer, products or designs to be like others.” She also prides herself in providing pieces that will last her customers forever and be something they are proud to own. “Quality work is very important to me, I want to provide great products for my clients that they are proud to wear and show off.”
Jennie is proud of her business and what it has provided for her and her family. “I am in love with my life. I feel so very blessed to work from home, teach my son and live our life our way.” She exclaimed. “We are surrounded by beautiful things, and I enjoy creating beautiful things!” To see more of Jennie’s beautiful work you can visit her website or her Instagram page here.
